About the Design Lab
The Design Laboratory is a space for physics researchers and students to develop their design and manufacturing skills, and create equipment to streamline their research. The lab combines modern and traditional manufacturing methods, from 3D printers, to manual mills and lathes, in addition to design and prototyping tools.
Researchers are able to move through the entire design process, from an idea to a finished product, all within one space, with the guidance and coaching of an engineer.
The Design Laboratory adds to the richness of educational and research opportunities in the Columbia Physics Department.
